Art Exhibition “Be Here Now” Urges Visitors for a Moment of Clarity Show honors psychologist Ram Dass, discusses mental health and will be on display in San Ramon until 28 February In a time when mental health issues are on the rise, visual artist Bash invites us to an immersive experience of awareness, beauty, and truth with his new Art Exhibition “Be Here Now - A Moment Of Contemplation” at Alcosta Senior and Community Center in San Ramon, California. The venue will be hosting his show from February 3rd through the 28th. In the collection of 40+ unique pieces, Bash pays homage to Ram Dass (1931-2019), an American spiritual teacher, psychologist, and author, well known for his book, Be Here Now. The show also proposes a reflection on mental health issues and the rise of digital media obsessions. “Our society today uses their online feeds for food. A break time has become a moment to be dragged into your phone. We forget that we can be still and still be moving as Ram Dass used to say”, observes Bash. The show dialogues with all age groups. “Everyone of us has had a moment of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt in our lives”, comments the artist who carefully designed the exhibition to offer visitors an experience of inner connection with their inside world and the outside world. An Immersive Experience With “Be Here Now - A Moment Of Contemplation”, Bash’s art celebrates mindful moments through a varied range of shapes, colors, forms, and movements. To enjoy the show, visitors are encouraged to put their phones away and walk the space with the single commitment of being present. “Bash is challenging his audience to completely stop and contemplate the beauty around us. One attentive look into his work and you can see images expanding beyond the surfaces”, comments Ana Otoni, Bash’s agent and consultant. Signs reading “Be Here Now” and “Feed Your Brain, Quit Your Phone” are displayed throughout the exhibition reminding visitors to simply enjoy the journey. At the end of the show, Bash proposes visitors to share their experience at the show and invites them to take a picture of one final piece. All the works are for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Love Serve Remember Foundation, dedicated to preserving and continuing the teachings of Ram Dass with a focus on mental health and spiritual healing, as well as to the City of San Ramon. “Be Here Now - A Moment Of Contemplation” can be viewed at the Alcosta Senior and Community Center (9300 Alcosta Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583) Monday to Friday (8:30am-5pm), from February 3rd until the 28th. Bash Sebastian Carlo Moreno (Bash) is an East Coast Artist, born in Miami, who eventually fell for the diversity and culture of NYC, moving there when he was only 22. His curiosity and adventurous lifestyle led him to explore different forms of art styles during his time in the Big Apple. From graffiti to black book sketches to 3D-printing to abstract psychedelia, he eventually crafted his own unique form of expression. "My work is what I see around me amplified and not contained by the reality in which we exist. The offering, like a kaleidoscope, is always presenting something new to be seen within", defines the artist. Determined to scale his work in 3D-printing he made a move to the innovative Bay Area. After a short period exploring the sunny side of the Bay, Bash decided to venture down to SoCal, where his art transcended and found him at his most creative and productive period so-far. Currently based in Long Beach, California, Bash can often be seen by the Belmont pier where he loves to watch and listen to the waves and recharge. Wandering in nature is one of his many passions, as can be seen in many of his pieces. Bash is inspired by the living world we inhabit, both the massive and microscopic, our bodies, cells, trees, flowers, the oceans & it’s creatures, clouds in the sky and the cosmos that all resides within. Ram Dass Ram Dass lived a fulfilling life and passed in December of 2019, leaving behind a legacy of service and social action. He spent most of his life spreading words of compassion and self-awareness and working with the dying and the homeless. Ram Dass first went to India in 1967, while he was still known as Dr. Richard Alpert, a prominent Harvard psychologist, and psychedelic pioneer, along with Dr. Timothy Leary. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means “servant of God.” After this, everything changed – his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now” ever since. Ram Dass’ spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions throughout the journey, helping to free them from their bonds as he himself worked beyond his own.
